Attention ALL MPA Families!
Hello MPA Families,
April has come and gone. Our 3-8th grade scholars completed M-STEP testing and now we are gearing up for K-8 spring NWEA tests. We have fun activities planned this month. First, we will celebrate our fabulous staff during Teacher Appreciation Week! We will also honor our Mothers and Motherly figures at our “Muffins in the Morning” event. Finally, scholars will complete art projects for our end of the year art display! Scholars will also take in the fresh air as they spend time outside as part of our school-wide scholar wellbeing plan.
As always, reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

MacDowell is a self-managed school dedicated to providing a world-class education to empower our scholars and help them make their dreams a reality.

Caring, Neighborhood School
Over 90% of our scholars live within a 1.5 mile radius of the school. This, along with right-sized enrollment and manageable class sizes, creates a close-knit community where scholars feel safe and are able to develop meaningful relationships with adults.

Academics - A holistic approach
Of course, the academic skills necessary to succeed are central to our program, We also prioritize a holistic approach to learning by purposefully integrating character development and cultivating a scholars sense of self. Each aspect is critical to developing happy, stable and successful human beings.

College Readiness
The importance of a college
education is rapidly increasing in the 21st-century. As part of our enduring
commitment to creating opportunities for our students, we offer a college prep
curriculum and a clear path to college through our network of schools.

Meaningful Enrichment
During the school day, we offer music and dance classes as part of our core curriculum, and we partner with community organizations to offer after-school enrichment and athletic programming such as RacquetUp Detroit. At MacDowell, scholars receive rigorous academic content and opportunities to cultivate their unique passions.

Worry-free Transportation
Life can be hectic, and it is made more difficult when a parent must walk or drive their scholar to school on a daily basis. MacDowell families have access to worry-free bus transportation to and from school each day free of charge.
